Just Charlie was formed in January of 2004, when the 5 students Allard Amelink, Henk Smit, Chris Verhagen, Tim van der Weijde en Niels Westerlaken decided to start a band. Friday the 13th of January 2004 was the day that JC first played together. At first they only performed songs originally by The Strokes. After a while they also began to play covers of Oasis, sang by Michiel Kalishoek, who joined the band from that period on. Later on they started writing their own songs.
