Detroit-born singer/actress Karen Newman was raised in the cities of Grand Blanc and Rochester, Michigan. She studied music at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and has toured and recorded with fellow Detroit-born musicians Bob Seger and Kid Rock.
