Kekik is a band formed in Istanbul by Enis Gümüs, Tolga Özüdogru, Bora Okumusoglu, and Cem Karaoguz in February 2002. Although the band was founded while they were in university, the guitarists Enis and Tolga were playing some similar music back in high school. The band had no name for over a year, until they realised that they needed one, since they were ggoing to play at the Istanbul Technical University Rock Festival.
