While you’ve probably never heard of Ken Reaume (aka Black Walls), the Scarborough, Ont.,-born songwriter is one of many talented solo performers from the region who deserve more attention. He had occasionally been lumped in with the pysch-folk movement, but beyond a couple tours with figureheads such as Jana Hunter or Otto Hauser of Vetiver and opening for Iron and Wine, he has little to do with the genre.
