Kevin Burke is an Irish fiddler. He was born in London, England to parents from County Sligo in 1950. He started playing the fiddle at age eight, eventually acquiring a virtuosic technique in the highly ornamented Sligo fiddling style. He returned to Ireland and played for a while with Christy Moore after leaving Planxty. He then replaced Tommy Peoples as fiddle player with the Bothy Band from 1976-79 and later became a member of Patrick Street (in 1986). He emigrated to Portland, Oregon in the U.S. in 1979.
