Born in Teesto, Arizona, Kevin Yazzie (Navajo) and his wife Alberta now reside in Mesa, Arizona with their children, Shailen and Natashbah. Yazzie began singing at the age of six, attending pow-wows and Native American Church ceremonies. At the age of thirteen, he grew closer to the Native American Church and it's songs of prayer and healing inspiring him to begin composing his own songs.
