Kimmo Hakola (born 27 July 1958) is a Finnish Composer. Having studied composition privately with Einojuhani Rautavaara, Kimmo Hakola entered the Sibelius Academy in 1981. At the Sibelius Academy, he also studied with Eero Hämeenniemi and Magnus Lindberg. Hakola is one of the most original composers of his generation, and premieres of his works usually attract exceptional interest.
