In November 1996, jazz saxophonist Lee Konitz teamed up with legendary bassist Charlie Haden and soon-to-be-famous pianist Brad Mehldau. The album that resulted (Alone Together) was Konitz's first for Blue Note, and contained innovative and surprising versions of standard bop tunes.
