Lisa DeBenedictis began piano lessons at an early age and flirted with the idea of being a concert pianist. After years of practice and study, she decided she would rather learn guitar and play in a rock band. She dropped out of music school, taught herself guitar and formed her first band in 1999, a rock duo called "Ring of Nine" which mainly played Concrete Blonde covers in New England coffee joints.
