Lloyd Kramer is the Dean E. Smith Distinguished Term Professor of History and Chair of the History Department at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he has taught since 1986. He earned his B.A. from Maryville College and an M.A. in history at Boston College. He received is Ph.D. in European Intellectual History at Cornell University.
