I was born in Crete (Heraklion). Started singing since young and my basic teacher was my family, especially my grandmother, who was a selftaught singer. She was a peasant woman from Crete, singing traditional songs (“mandinades”, a kind of fifteen syllabes folk poetry, which is very popular still in Crete), as well as various other songs of her time .
