Marianne Oswald, whose real name Alice Bloch-Colin, was a singer and actress born on 9 January 1901 in Reichsland in Alsace-Lorraine (Germany) to Jewish parents who had emigrated from Poland. She died on 25 February 1985 at Limeil-Brévannes in the Val-de-Marne. Marianne Oswald began her singing career in 1920 in the cabarets of Berlin.
