Marius Mihalache is a romanian cembalo performer of Roma ancestry. His family has a long history in music: his great-great-grandfather was a cembalo player and his grandfather (violin player) was one the greatest lautari of the interwar period. He started studying the cembalo when he was six years old. In 1987, when he was 13 years old, he won the Paris International Youth Festival.
