Max Toews was born in Seattle and raised in Edmonds, WA. He first picked up an instrument when he was 9 back in 1999, it was the baritone. Though he quickly found out brass was not his strong suit and eventually picked up the guitar when he was 13 in 2003. Max joined his first band, Unicron, in 2008 with his two friends Justin Fink and Chris Missler; Unicron didn't take off due to practice issues and was soon disbanded.
