Maxi started writing songs at the age of fourteen and joined her first band at the age of eighteen in 1990. First band Mahalia 1990 - 1993, were taken under the wing of Ruby Blues Manager, Dave Kitson with a hopeful release on his record label Red Flame. This never happened.
