MJ13 began in London, UK in 2003 as a one-man (Clancy Hood) plus-guests recording group. Hood released the first album as MJ13 ("High Fraud", 12" vinyl-only, with Littledragon Records) in 2005. Drummer Anthony Johns and bassist Andres Anguita joined Hood to form a live blues/grunge/garage/punk act in 2006, performing regularly in East London venues and community squats until 2008.
