Monique was born in the Bedford Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn N.Y. She is the only girl of four children born to Bishop Carl & Sandra Williams. Monique was raised singing in her grandfather's church; "The Institutional Church of God in Christ" in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn.
