Nathan Hubbard is a composer and band leader, his most ambitious project was a two-CD set including two-and-a-half-hours of music performed by his Skeleton Key Orchestra, "a shapeshifting, large big band of West Coast jazz players and free improvisers. The instrumentation includes lots of saxophones, trombones and acoustic basses, along with guitars, more strings, lots of percussion, and occasional electronics from members of the Trummerflora collective."
