Nuvo Bloc formed in 1980 when members of Adelaide groups Terminal Twist, The U-Bombs and Lemme Caution grew tired of playing straight-ahead punk rock. With Vonni Rollan on vocals, the six piece band quickly attracted a large audience and released their self-financed first single 'Atomic Fiction' later the same year.
