Phil ‘n’ the Blanks were founded in 1979 in Chicago. Best described as the thinking person’s dance band, they recorded two singles and three albums for Pink Records and appeared on a team-up disc with The Wild Snares for Trouser Press. They were fronted by Blanche Le Blanc and Phil Bimstein with Eric Kister (guitar), Bill Hyland (bass) and Roman Zabicki (drums).
