Picture Books in Winter formed in Cardiff in October 2007. They make indie-pop music using guitars, a violin and occasionally a cello. The 5 members of Picture Books in Winter met each other while at university in Cardiff. All 5 members had spent time making music together in the past but it wasn't until autumn of 2007 that they decided to form a band properly and turn the ideas they'd been playing with into actual songs.
