Rebecca Barnard, a long-running collaborator with Stephen Cummings and others in the Melbourne music scene, led the Australian indie band Rebecca's Empire throughout the 1990s. In 2006, Barnard released her first solo album, 'Fortified', featuring a more laid-back sound, incorporating blues, pop and country influences.
