Richard Laviolette is a Canadian singer-songwriter based in Guelph, Ontario. He was born 22 August 1982 as Richard Andrew Laviolette.[ His debut album was begun in autumn 2003 under the name Mary Carl. The album was recorded in the bedroom of friend Adam Scott, with Michelle Dyck contributing additional vocals.
