Born on 20th May 1955 in Aachen, Germany, Robert got his first guitar aged 13. Interests in electronics and engineering aided his musical development as he built his own equipment to experiment with synthesis and create new sounds. In 1970 he ceased playing music for a few years to concentrate on studying and engineering, later to go on to work for Atari and Seiko in 1984.
