Rouge Baiser was formed in May 1998, when Harald Reeh (mandolin, fiddle, banjo) and Bernhard Fuchs (bass, percussion) studied musicians for a new band project. Members of the first hour were Brigtte Stortz-Schindler (vocals), Thomas Klaas (Gitarrre) and Martina Gassner (accordion). During the first year Martina left the group.
