The year 2007 was the Eight hundredth birth anniversary of the great Persian sufi poet Mawlana Jalalad-Din Mohammed Balkhi (Rumi). UNESCO dedicated this year to him to commemorate this brilliant poet. Today his poetry inspires people all around the world.
