Salò were formed in Glasgow in late 2010 by Paul McArthur (guitar, vocals), Wes McCallum (bass, vocals) and Sam Massey (drums, vocals). All three had previously been in bands that had enjoyed a degree of success critically, but which had broken up in the preceding year.
