Screaming Factor [SF] dibentuk di kota Malang pada bulan Maret 1997 dengan formasi awal Evi [vokal], Harry [vokal], Yoyok [gitar], Andre [bass], dan Lucky [drum]. Di awal karirnya, konsep musik SF lebih kepada oldschool hardcore/punk, dan sering mengkover lagu-lagu asing milik Sick Of It All, 25 Ta Life, atau Vision of Disorder.
