SDJ's was born Shawn D. Johnson in Fort Campbell, Ky. He moved to Washington at the age of 3 and was raised in Tacoma, Wa. He had an early interest in music beginning at the age of 8 and joined band class playing the trumpet. His parents also bought him a keyboard which started a new fascination with music and how to construct it.
