One night in early 2002, Holly Morgan and Lisa Harbin decided that they wanted to start a band, in spite of never having attempted any kind of musical endeavor before. The two teamed up with Vestal Vermin guitarists Kate Tallent (on guitar) and Colleen Pelser (on bass) to form Secret Crush Society, with Morgan behind the drums and Harbin on vocals.
