Shafiga Eyvazova was born on March 9 in 1947 in Baku. She is one of the best kamancha (spiked fiddle) players and was awarded to the rank of the Popular artist of Azerbaijan in 2000. She studied in 1962-1966 at the Azerbaijan State Music School and in 1966-1971 at the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire. Shafiga Eyvazova is the first woman soloist performer in Azerbaijan.
