Sign Language formed in 1981 in Blackpool, Lancashire, UK. Initially influenced by the spirit of the first wave of British Punk Bands, Sign Language developed a more new wave/post punk sound akin to their peers at the time, Joy Division,Killing Joke and early U2(Boy LP).
