Snatch and the Poontangs was actually an anonymous side project of the great R&B bandleader Johnny Otis' band, including his son Shuggie Otis with vocalist Delmar "Mighty Mouth" Evans a.k.a The Hawk, Prince Wunnerful, and The Mouth, respectively. In 1969, under a nom de plume, they cut an "underground" record for the Kent label with sexually explicit and X-rated language that was forward even by the standards of rap music.
