Stephen Malkmus, best known as the lead singer of the influential 90's alternative band Pavement, was hired to record three songs for the soundtrack of Todd Haynes' unconventional Bob Dylan biopic, I'm Not There. Lee Ranaldo, guitarist and founding member of the legendary New York City alt rock band Sonic Youth, assembled a band entitled "The Million Dollar Bashers" after the song on Dylan and The Band's Basement Tapes.
