Tamás Szarka is a member of Hungarian folk band called Ghymes. He can play on a numerous number of instruments, such as violin, koboz (Hungarian lute), guitar, contrabass, fretless bass, percussion, bass drum and kalabash zither. He also writes books. He wrote a book titled "Anonymus kérdez" (“Anonymus asking questions”) which contains poems of Ghymes music.
