Szymon Kuran (16 December 1955 – 7 August 2005) was a Polish composer, violinist, and jazz musician. Born in Szeligach, Mazowieckie, Poland, he moved to Reykjavík in 1984, becoming one of the most popular musicians in Iceland. Szymon Kuran initially studied music under his father, and later became a pupil of Witold Krotkiewski, violinist and composer.
