Born 1975 in Vientiane, Thao's family was forced to leave Laos after the end of the vietnam war. Her family moved to Germany where she grew up and started writing songs at the age of 15. In 1999 Thao graduated from Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA, USA where she majored in guitar and vocals. Thao is mainly working as a composer for television film projects.
