The Abbreviations are an indie rock band from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The members include Nick Hind-Knapp (Bass, Vocals) Dave MacIntosh (Guitar, Vocals) Fraser Malcolm (Drums) and Andy van Kooy (Guitar, Vocals). The band met at Westdale Highschool in Hamilton, around 2004 and began playing together as complete amateurs to the music scene. The EP "Motorcycle Scene" was toured extensively, and the band became regular performers at local Hamilton venues.
