Originally based in the Eastern United States, the Blue Ridge Mountain Boys have performed bluegrass music from coast to coast and overseas. The group was founded in the late 1960's by Bob Jones, who named it after the Blue Ridge region of the states of Virginia (a childhood home) and the Carolinas. In 1972 Jones moved the group's base of operations to the West Coast.
