"The Chanteymen" started as a fictitious band name Chris scrawled on the wall of the men's room in the Kraftbrau Brewery in his hometown of Kalamazoo, MI. Later, when Chris moved up to Marquette to go to school, he used his laptop and an acoustic guitar to record songs as a method of coping with depression and isolation.
