Technicolor power pop band, The Great American Novel, was formed in late 2010 by Layne Montgomery and producer Oliver Ignatius of the psychedelic rock band Ghost Pal. The two looked to mash their love of beautiful 60s arrangements created by Brian Wilson or Phil Spector with the rock and roll attitude and New York coolness of the Velvet Underground and Television.
