Jimmy Giuffre was an american jazz clarinet and saxophone player, composer and arranger. He was born in Dallas, Texas, april 26, 1921, and died april 24, 2008. He was a central figure in West Coast Jazz and Cool Jazz; also he was notable for his development of forms of jazz which allowed for free interplay between musicians, anticipating forms of free improvisation.
