The Mallik Family: Its musical tradition goes back to the late 18th century, when two brothers, Radhakrishna and Kartaram, arrived at the court of Darbhanga in the North-Eastern part of the country, having studied for over twenty years under Bhupat Khan, a descendant of the famous Mughal court singer Tan Sen.
