First off, Maruli Hasiholan (ex- Sendal Jepit / The Bonots) formed The Marmars in 1999. With loads of songs, but no other musician, he created four fictional quadruplet brothers as virtual members of a virtual band. Then some folks asked him to have a gig, so he recruited additional members to perform for just one gig or two.
