Anwar Abudragh and Maqamat Ensemble The group Maqamat is considered an extension of the group Al-Bayariq ensemble which was founded by the famous artist Munir Bechir supervised by the famous Oud player Naseer Shamma. The members of Maqamat were the main members of Al-Bayariq. Anwar Abudragh founded Maqamat Ensemble representing the Iraqi maqam school in 2006 in order to share this important Arabic musical and lyrical school with the rest of the world.
