In 1979, after releasing singles by The Undertones, Rudi and The Outcasts on his Good Vibrations label, Terri Hooley heard a demo by Portrush band The Mighty Shamrocks. The Shamrocks' country and roots-tinged songs sounded like nothing else on the Irish music scene at the time.
