The Mongrel Jews are a street folk band from Seattle, Washington. They formed in late 2009, and after three home-recorded EPs, released their first studio EP in January 2013. The band consists of Aaron Shay (banjo, ukulele), Sarah Shay (washboard), and Annie Hughes, (harmonica, mandolin). The band has described their sound as "folk played by punks and punk played by folks."
