The Quarrymen was the 1957-1959 name of the band which was later renamed Johnny and the Moondogs, which was later renamed The Silver Beetles, which was later renamed The Beatles. The Quarrymen (also written as "the Quarry Men") are a British skiffle/rock and roll group, formed by John Lennon in Liverpool in 1956, which eventually evolved into the Beatles in 1960.
