The Rainbow Press was formed in the summer of 1968 by six college students, all from the suburbs of New York City. Marc Ellis and Bill Yergin (as pictured) were high school classmates and Joe Groff, Larry Milton, Dave Troup and Charlie Osborne also knew each other in high school. They formed, under the original name of the Continental Divide, as a summer thing before going back to their various colleges again.
