Started in 2008, The Sound of Progress began with guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Ely Corliss. Good friend and drummer Eric Riley soon started helping out on stage. Bassist Luke Corliss and guitarist Greg Simms also filled in on stage for a time in 2008. Soon after, bassist Michael Unruh and guitarist Rob Myers completed the ensemble as more permanent members.
